Martin Freeman is going to kick some serious Sackville in The Hobbit

These dorktastic shirts aren't part of the post, but they're available on TheYetee until Midnight tonight (11/15!)

It's been very difficult to keep this site from turning into a collection of nifty news items related to Peter Jackson's 2012-defining movie The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey.

The soundtrack is pretty amazing, its Denny's menu looks worrisome delicious, and the Hobbit-themed overhaul to its Matamata tourism center is one of the coolest things to happen to New Zealand since the All Blacks (or, possibly, Te Papa).  In short, everything is coming up Bilbo!

...everything, that is, except for Bilbo himself.  While Peter Jackson & Co. have not been shy about showing Martin Freeman in the role, little has been seen of his actual performance.  This has changed with the release of the latest TV spot for The Hobbit which consists of Bilbo giving a short, inspirational speech to Thorin and Company.

The speech starts off fairly bland, and there are moments where it sounded more Ridley Scott than Bilbo Baggins, but the laugh at the end and Freeman's body language absolutely make the character of Bilbo come alive:

I am seriously tempted to order a case of Nyquil from Amazon and hibernate the next three or so weeks away.
