The Turret Anthem will make you want to play Portal 2 all over again

Portal 2 is one of the rare games that deserves every bit of praise that it's received over the past two years.  Full of awesome first-person puzzle gameplay, an excellent (and free!) soundtrack, and one of the most passive-aggressive antagonists in the history of video games, Portal 2 has something for almost every type of gamer.

...except those obsessive few who like to see all of a game's loose ends tied up.

Portal 2 leaves players with one major question left unanswered, namely: what will happen to the sprawling underground compound full of murderous robots?  While there's no shortage of test subjects for them to vent their frustrations (and bullets) upon, the dialog from some of the turrets throughout the game makes you think that maybe - just maybe - they wanted something more than a life of servitude and bloodshed.

Well, now they have it thanks to the immensely talented Zach Scott and his sentimental presentation of The Turret Anthem.  Set against Scott's pitch-perfect animation, The Turret Anthem features soundbites from the game mixed in with excellent original music from Lars Erik Fjøsne.

You don't need to be a fan of GLaDOS and Chell to appreciate what this song has to offer...

The best part about The Turret Anthem (other than, y'know, the fact that it exists), is that you can download the song absolutely free from Soundcloud.

I know what I'll be listening to for the rest of the day!
