Final Fantasy XI: Seekers of Adoulin receives a new trailer, now with more flying shark

Earlier this year, Square Enix teased a trailer for the upcoming Final Fantasy XI expansion Seekers of Adoulin and set the Final Fantasy fanbase into a tizzy.

Players were excited to see classic jobs from the franchise like Geomancer and Spellblade Rune Fencer make their way into the MMO, and it was encouraging to see that Sqaure Enix was still actively supporting the development of new content for Final Fantasy XI, despite it celebrating its 11th birthday this year.

Now, these same players can be excited at the release of a new (Japanese) trailer for the expansion.  I don't have much of a clue of what's going on here, but there appears to be an infestation of flaming dinosaurs stomping around... and I think a magic mushroom is poisoning the world's water supply?

Anyway, the video shows off the new jobs and enemies nicely - even if the Geomancers appear to be wearing upside down salad bowls on their heads:

Will this long-time retiree of FFXI log in to check out the new expansion?  Probably not, especially with the 16-bit, fan-made version of the game well in development.  It'd be incredibly difficult to justify the time investment to the aging MMO when so many other games (like its breathtakingly gorgeous successor) vying for my attention -

...wait, is that a flying shark?

Time to dig up my old account information!
