Have you ever wanted to date a dinosaur? If so, Jurassic Heart is here to help

Dating sims and Otome games have had a tough timing winning anything but niche audiences outside of Japan. Some are lucky enough to win a cult following (like Burn Your Fat With Me!) but most just aren't the sort of video game that western gamers are looking for.

The truly bizarre Jurassic Heart aims to change this, because in it you'll date a dinosaur.

Or rather, you'll have the opportunity to date a dinosaur (specifically, an insecure Tyrannosaurus Rex named Taira).  Whether or not Taira takes a shine to your character depends wholly on the decisions that you as a player make.

Everything about Jurassic Heart follows the expected visual novel / dating sim route, and its interface, plot, and style of soundtrack will be quite familiar with anyone who's ever dabbled in the genre. Think Corpse Party with less corpses and more perseveration over what outfit you're going to wear, and you'll have a good idea of what to expect from Jurassic Heart.

There's absolutely no explanation as to why you, as a human girl, have a crush on - or even go to the same school as - a Tyrannosaurus, but if you check that sort of scrutiny at the door you can have a lot of fun with Jurassic Heart... mostly because it's free and can be played in a browser window.

Also, and I can't stress this enough, it lets you date a dinosaur.

If you're smitten with the idea of Jurassic Heart but find its singular dating path unappealing, The Daily Dot reports that its creators are considering the release of a longer version of the game that gives you five databale dinos to choose from.

As if anyone would pick a Stegosaurus when they could hook up with a Ukelele-playing T-Rex...
