Object of geek desire: DIY Portal Pajamas

It's hard to argue with the game formula of Portal and Portal 2.

You start with innovative physics puzzling, mix in a pathologically passive-aggressive villain with a petty streak a mile wide, and then sprinkle liberally with excellent music until the memes and hand-painted lingerie start flowing in.

Maybe this is why fans drank have dreamed of owning a working version of the famous portal gun  since Portal blew onto the gaming scene in 2007.  While science has (again) disappointed us by not making this awesome device a reality, craftiness has given us a totally easy-to-follow guide on how to create a set of Portal Pajamas as a consolation prize.

The above genius is the product of Instructables member rachaelwhitaker and is the perfect choice of geeky sleepwear. In addition to be stylish, they can also be made on a shoestring budget since they're little more than ~2 yards of bright orange fleece and a zipper!

Unlike other objects of geek desire, these aren't available to purchase in their assembled form so you'll have to follow Rachael's comprehensive sewing and construction guide to bring them into reality yourself.  The downside is that this requires you to have access to a sewing machine and a fair amount of craftiness.

The upside is that when you're done, you'll have the cutest pair of Portal pajamas in the world. Pair them with an overly large plush companion cube, and you can slip off to a dreamland where you're the cool kid instead of Mr. or Ms. fatty fatty no-parents.
