Celebrate the Fourth of July with OCR's free Final Fantasy VI remix album

There's been a lot of attention paid to Final Fantasy VI around here recently, and that's not just because I consider it to be one the best video games every created.

Actually, that's entirely why... but today it works in your favor, as the mad geniuses over at OverClocked ReMix have completed their amazingly epic, 6-hour-long Final Fantasy VI tribute album. Yes, you read that correctly - it's a full 6 hours (and 72 tracks) long, and - best of all - it's completely, 100% free.

If you're looking some great video game remixes to make your roadtrips this holiday weekend more enjoyable, you can certainly do worse than Balance and Ruin.

There are over-the-top rock operas to enjoy, fiddle renditions of some of the sillier tunes, a bit of thrash rock for the boss fight themes, and everything in between.  You probably won't enjoy every single track on the album (the unfortunate price to be paid when dealing with any sort of remix/arrange album) but with 72 tracks to listen to, chances are good you'll find a few to rock out to.

Now get out there and enjoy the barbecue, dammit!
