A good Skyrim mod is a thing of beauty, but a great Skyrim mod might just get you a job at Bethesda.
At least, that's the hope of 19-year-old Alexander J. Velicky who just unveiled a massive mod for the equally massive Skyrim in the hopes of landing a job at Bethesda Studios.
The mod in question - Falskaar - adds a new area that's roughly one third (one third!) the size of Skyrim's original map, and features 9 new storyline quests and 17 sidequests. The mod isn't a slapdash affair, either, and includes everything from an original soundtrack to full voice acting from a small army of 30 volunteers.
Falskaar took Velicky roughly 2,000 hours to complete, and from the trailer below it looks like those 83 some odd days were days well spent.
Amidst the sprawl and atmosphere of Falskaar lies its real allure: the Watervine Chasm dungeon that took Velicky almost three weeks to build and should take players a full hour or two to complete.
As of July 19, Falskaar has amassed over 50,000 downloads over on Skyrim Nexus and Velicky notes that Bethesda is aware of his presence. Whether this awareness translates into a job remains to be seen, but in the mean time - if you're a PC gaming Dragonborn - you could certainly do worse things this weekend than download Falskaar.
