Korra fans, gird your Lionturtles - The Legend of Korra Season 2 release date is less than a month away

Following a string of spring and early summer delays, The Legend of Korra gave fans a new reason to look forward to the coming autumn when it announced that Book 2: Spirits would debut sometime in September.

Now, Yahoo reports (via an exclusive) that The Legend of Korra would premiere on Nickelodeon on September 13.  Take a quick look at your calendar and you'll realize that means there'll be new Korra episodes to fill your fandom with meaning in less than a month.

Book 2: Spirits picks up six months after the events of the first season, and in that time Mako becomes a cop (apparently), Korra squares herself with being the Avatar a bit more, and Asami continues her desire to become Nickelodeon's answer to Mitsuro Kirijo... all of which is fine by me, and should be by you once you take a look at the trailer below.

Other than the six month gap, there's not much known about what Korra will have in store (unless you have an iPad and you're willing to dig a bit) for fans except for the fact that it's set to premiere at 7pm on Friday, September 13.
