Object of geek desire: Portal-inspired suncatchers

Suncatchers are really starting to make a comeback thanks to Etsy and the renaissance of the hobby crafting movement.

Despite this renewed interest, suncatchers still have a difficult road ahead of them before they'll convince anyone that they've become more than the de facto summer crafts project of middle school summer campers across the world.

At least, they would have had a difficult road until these babies came along...

This week's object of geek desire is a pair of Portal-inspired suncatchers from Etsy artist NamioStainedGlass.  Replicating the familiar Portal logo almost perfectly, the pair splits the Aperture science stick figure between the trademark orange and blue portals - just hang them up on a sunny window and let the science shine on through!

Better still, these suncatchers won't cost you a silly amount of money - unlike some other stained glass objects of geek desire I can think of.  In fact, the set posted here will only set you back $25.00 (+$5.00 shipping).  For those who'd like the original orientation of the now-famous Portal logo, NamioStainedGlass has got you covered with a pair of vertical Portal suncatchers for $20.00 (+$5.00 shipping).

I don't want to tell you how to spend your money but if you've played Portal and you have windows, you pretty much owe it to yourself to add these to your home.
