True story about your pal here at Kawaiian Punch - I absolutely suck when it comes to baking and decorating baked goods.
I count any day that I can frost a cupcake without burning down my kitchen as a win, and so I'm completely blown away by impressive uses of fondant by those with more talent than I can ever hope to aspire to.
The latest geek confectionary miracle to make its way around the web comes from Sachiko Windbiel - aka Mimicafe Union - and ranks as the most impressive use of fondant that I've seen to date.
What you're looking at is the entire great hall from Hogwarts in all of its Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone glory captured entirely in the edible medium of fondant.
While extremely impressive, this masterstroke of design is nothing new for Mimicafe Union who specializes in 3D cupcake and cake toppers. It was created as part of the incredibly cool Bake A Christmas Wish charity to help terminally ill children realize their dreams through the equally awesome Make-A-Wish Foundation (of shutdown San Francisco for Batkid fame).
This means that Mimicafe Union's Hogwarts Great Hall will be auctioned off to the highest bidder, making it both incredible as well as socially conscious.
To get a full appreciation for the insane amount of detail that went into Mimicafe's masterstroke, take a look at the picture below with her hand for scale.

Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to go make some slice & bake cookies to feel better about my baking skills.
