Every year, thousands of people make a New Year's resolution to get into better shape.
For the most part, these resolutions accomplish little more than a slight bump in gym membership that steadily tapers off as January wanes... but Burn Your Fat With Me 2 might just help you get moétivated to shed some extra pounds.
As the name suggests, BYFWM2 is the sequel to the core-shredding iOS / Android game Burn Your Fat With Me and it continues the tradition of mashing up a JP-style dating sim with a casual-focused fitness app.
This time around, however, it's skipping the crunches and light cardio to transform itself into a full-fledged running game like Zombies, Run!.
In BYFWM2, you're once gain cast as an out-of-shape male protagonist who's somehow caught the eye of a more athletic love interest. In order to win her heart, you'll need to complete running challenges which are mapped out and handled by your smartphone's GPS sensor.
When you complete a run within a set time limit, your characters will grow closer together and you'll get to watch young love blossom as you complete your cooldowns.
But BYFWM2 isn't just about reaching your goals. During each run, you'll also be treated to breathy words of voice-acted encouragement by your running partner and you can even glance down at your phone to watch her jogging along in front of you.
This last feature is a standard of the Burn Your Fat With Me series, but it seems uniquely dangerous when paired with a running app... especially if you're the type of person who likes to run on the side of the road.
Developer Creative Freaks said that it wants to bring Burn Your Fat With Me 2 to English-speaking audiences sometime in 2014, but it didn't provide a more specific timeframe for the release. Which means, of course, that the only sensible thing to do now is to stick your new running shoes back in the closet and put your resolution on hold for a few months.
