George R.R. Martin released another excerpt from The Winds of Winter

...and it proves that his troll levels are off the charts.

GRRM hasn't been shy about teasing content from the highly anticipated sixth book in the A Song of Ice and Fire series, The Winds of Winter.  In the past, he's released two full chapters - one from Asha Greyjoy's perspective, the other from Arianne Martell's - but since then he's been quiet.

And trollish.

After hinting that he had every intention of upping the evil in Westeros, he finally got around to releasing a new Game of Thrones book... fit for coffeetables of fans around the world.  After this coup, he decided it was time to get back to releasing excerpts from Book Six.

Only this time, he decided to leak a single paragraph - exclusively to Entertainment Weekly.

The good news is that this one's from a Tyrion chapter, so there's good chance fans will actually care about it:

"Somewhere off in the far distance, a dying man was screaming for his mother. “To horse!” a man was yelling in Ghiscari, in the next camp to the north of the Second Sons. “To horse! To horse!” High and shrill, his voice carried a long way in the morning air, far beyond his own encampment. Tyrion knew just enough Ghiscari to understand the words, but the fear in his voice would have been plain in any tongue. I know how he feels."

Hardly groundbreaking stuff, but there is a silver lining: Entertainment Weekly also noted that the full Tyrion chapter will be leaked next month to the official (deep breath) George R. R. Martin’s A World of Ice and Fire – A Game of Thrones Guide iOS companion app.

So if you absolutely, positively *need* to know what Tyrion and the Ghiscari were running away from (hint: it probably begins with 'd' and ends with 'ragons') you can make with the downloading.  Happily, you'll get the chapter with the standard free version of the app, so there's no need to spend on any IAPs.
