Object of geek desire: Legend of Zelda Tarot Cards

One of the blessings of the human condition is that we can only see the past and the present clearly while the future remains, for the most part, a mystery waiting for us.

Since time immemorial, plenty of impatient souls have tried to bypass this blessing with all manner of auguries from crystal balls to tea leaves - but we've come no closer to finding a definitive way to peek ahead.

That doesn't mean we can't try, of course, and look good while we do so.  And that's what this week's Object of Geek Desire is all about.

What you're looking at here is a full set of watercolor tarot cards inspired by The Legend of Zelda.

Created by talented Etsy artist (and lifelong gamer) PixelPerks, the 30-card bundle was inspired contains all 22 cards of the major arcana - from The Fool to The World - along with 5 information cards and three card blanks for you to use to frame your own drawings.

Each card is printed on "casino-quality" cardstock that's plastic-coated to give it a bit of extra shine and durability.  The deck is inspired heavily by the artwork and themes from  The Ocarina of Time with a bit of Majora's Mask sprinkled in for good measure.

Notably, The Moon.

Purist prognosticators might quibble that the Zelda tarot deck only contains the major arcana and thus isn't really fit for full tarot readings - but there's good news on that front.

PixelPerks is apparently working on a full 78-card bundle as well as major/minor arcana packs which'll come in handy if you're one of the lucky sods who snatched up her original listing on Etsy.

There's no timetable for when the full bundle will be completed, but you can always check out the artist's Deviant Art page for updates.
